We are on our way to our next destination, which is free camping in an interesting area. I just found this to be a cool old building so took a picture.
Things are getting a little strange out here in the town of Congress. This use to be a Gold mining town until the gold ran out. Now I guess the frogs are taking over.
As we progress along route 89, we came across this sign...oh oh!!

I beginning to get a bad feeling about this!!!
We are climbing over the mountains, slowly!Once we made it to the top, there was a small town with gift shops, and a bakery. Joyce did the gift shops and I did .......oh well, you know! After thinking that the ride up the mountain wasn't that bad, we departed town and started another climb and a lot of twisties which I would have loved if we were on a motorcycle. Every twist had a 20 MPH sign posted and I kept tell Joyce to shoot a video of the tight turns.
Well, Joyce began to get car sick from the twisties and no guard rail along the edge of the road. Even Mac was looking a little green. This went on for another 8 miles and now I know why we were the only motorhome on that road. You can see snow not far away.
Joyce finally started to feel better once the road straightened out a bit so she did a video of the road but she missed the exciting part.
We are at our new camp location which is on Coconino National Forest located on Thousand Trails Rd. off Rt. 260 half way between Cottonwood & Camp Verde, Az. Price to camp here, $0.00, yes it is free and you can stay up to 14 days. Keep in mind that this is dry camping with no water, dump site, or electric but we don't need any of that stuff. The GPS location is N 34'40.228' W 111'57.695', elevation is 3400 ft.
