Quoted From A Fellow Traveler:

Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance.

Update On The House

Things have been happening. We how have the plaster work done and I can start the building of the Kiva.
Once the concrete blocks have been glued to the floor, I mounted the base of the firebox.
I put the framework up so you can see what it is going to look like.
The next section of the firebox weighed about 300 lb's and I needed some help lifting it into place.
Once that section is in place, I had to assemble the gas valve assembly to the front of the base.
There is a 4" fresh air intake connected to the end of the gas assembly. This will supply fresh air to the burner, and help cool the chimney. The front section is now installed to the firebox.
Then the top of the firebox is positioned with special mortar cement.
Meanwhile, the contractor forgot to inform the plasterers that all the corners were to be rounded. Now they all must be removed and redone to a bullnose.
Today I started to install the chimney only to find out that I'm short a four foot piece. This will set me back a week waiting for a section of pipe. Not able to find a piece locally. Bummer!!!
The concrete was done for the coach hookup. Won't get power till the power is connected to the house.
Joyce has been running around getting paint samples for the interior and exterior. I'll be glad when this is done.

We Have Another Guest

Two weeks ago, our granddaughter Jessica came to visit us. This week her sister Megan came for spring break. Joyce loves it because she gets to go back to Disney.
There was a St Patrick's day party.
That's Sam with the big smile!!!!
There was a good size crowd.
Megan had to get up and dance.
 And dance!!
The ladies are now at Disney for two days.....what a waste of money. I use to like Disney when the were new and fresh. Now they just seem to offer the same old amusements at a premium price. Disney better smarten up because places like Universal Studios are constantly offering new attractions that are state of the art. Sorry, Joyce hates it when I badmouth Disney but I feel that they are not offering a fair deal to their customers.

Insulation Is Done

On our way to the house we always pass this tree. I call it the love tree.
It's a live oak wrapped around a palm tree.

Back at the house, the bedroom window is finally installed.
And the insulation is done. Casey likes having the extra room to play.
The house seems so quiet now.

And the house is being prepped for stucco.
Little by little, we are getting there.
I finished the vanity top for the master bath and had to see how the sink was going to fit. We left the wood showing the saw marks and worm holes so we could maintain the rustic look.

Windows And Vigas

We have a door that still requires stain, and we also have all but one window.
Joyce and I selected a color for the Vigas (log ends)
They were already primed when we received them, so it was just a matter of one quick coat of paint.
These things were drying almost as fast as Joyce painted them so I started to install them.
Easy to install by screwing in four places on the flange.
The stucco will be installed around the mounting flange to complete the effect.
I just finished the driveway side of the house.
Day two and I am finishing up the front. That's Sam holding the ladder. Sam work at the campground with me.
Getting ready to install the last Viga in the front of the house.
The last screw! A total of (20) pieces and I really enjoyed doing the job.
