Quoted From A Fellow Traveler:

Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance.

Coming into Nevada

We departed Salt Lake City and headed for Reno.
As we traveled across the salt flats we passed Morton Salt.
And miles of white flat lands until.....
We came upon the Bonneville Salt Flats
Miles and miles of nothing but soft salt.
If you were to drive on this stuff now, it would make a mess of you car.
The salt is very moist and sticks like snow. Later in the summer it totally dries up and makes for a good surface to drive on.
There were some people shoot a fashion commercial so we too0k a walk out to see.
Some brand of clothing was doing to shoot.
We continued on and into Nevada.
Miles and miles of nothing but plains and road repairs.
We did get a break at a rest area that had some green grass and info on the area.
Then it was back on the road.
 Oh look....telephone poles!
 And more road......
 Wow....a dirt devil

And more road. Then it happened!
The coach suddenly overheated and shut down. We were able to get to the side of the road.
I waited for her to cool a little and attempted to make the exit ramp about 500 feet away.

We made it up the ramp and she shut down again. I crawled under for a look and found that the fan belt was gone. Oh No!
We were lucky enough to make it to an old campground 1/8th of a mile away in Lovelock Nevada. Other than that we would have been stranded along the highway in 100 degree temps. Anyways, I made some calls and found a belt that I would have by the next morning.

We were planning to visit friends Doreen and Jack in Reno about an hour and a half away. It was still early enough so we unhooked the car and took off for Reno.

We had a great visit and thank Doreen and Jack for the great meal and conversation. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We will see you guys again in Florida, thanks again!

Those salt flats can get real crowded and noisy on the weekends. Good luck with the fan belt.
