Quoted From A Fellow Traveler:

Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance.

Things Do Happen For A Reason

For those of you that have followed our travels for a while, you'll remember that back in July we had to put our dog Mac down. We got Mac when he was just a pup and he was one month short of 15 years old when he gave in to kidney failure.

Loosing a pet is a tough thing to have to face and Joyce and I said no more pets because we didn't want to go through loosing another pet.

Well time has past and during our travels we have been talking about another dog or two. We miss Mac because he filled a void that only a pet can fill. And there were times that I needed someone else besides Joyce to talk to.

What Joyce and I decided to do was IF we were to get another dog, it would be from a Shelter. We would rather save a dog than but from a breeder. So as we traveled, Joyce searched the Internet for shelters that had Australian Shepards.

Time went on and we didn't really pursue the dog thing anymore, I told Joyce that we have to let the dog find us and it will happen if it's meant to be.

The day before yesterday while at the State Campground in South Carolina I thought that I might have a slight water leak in one of the water lines. We were to head east across the state in the morning but if I felt that we may still have a problem with a leak by morning, we would have to head north to a Tiffin dealer to check out the coach.

Morning came and I felt it best to have the coach checked out so we headed for the dealer in North Carolina. Once there, we left the coach and headed out for lunch. After lunch we headed back to the dealer to see how they were doing. It was then that we noticed a sign at the end of the street that said "Animal Shelter". We figured what the heck, we might as well check it out.

We got to the shelter and went to check out the dogs most of which we too big or too small. We were about to leave when we were told that they had some pups if we wanted to see them.

The pups in the first few cages were barking and jumping around and we didn't see anything that we really wanted.

At that point I looked in the last cage and there was this little multicolored pup that was sleeping. She look like she may have been sick so we took her out and found out that she was an Australian Sheppard in a Blue Merle color. Once we put her back in the pen she came to life and started to cry, that was it. Fate seemed to lead us to this dog because she was brought in about an hour before we got there. The shelter called the woman that dropped the pup off and she called us with all the info. on the dog. We took her to the local vet in the morning and had her checked out. Everything checked out great so here we are and we still don't believe the way it all worked out.......spooky huh!

So here's Casey after she sniffed my shoes. She also perfectly matches the pillows on our sofa.

And sitting in Kolh's parking lot
She is 9 weeks old and weighs 6.7 lb's

With her new mommy
And I forgot to mention that they never did find any water leak in the coach.

Wow guys - Congrats on the puppy!
Two of my cousins (one in Rehoboth & one in NH) are big Aussie people.
Great great dogs!

Loved following your blog all winter long. We're finally getting out and heading to Myrtle Beach next week for the kids spring vacay!

Thank you so much for all the nice comments. We feel so lucky to have been given this pup. She even tells us when she has to go out. We can't believe it.
