So we all packed into the car for a cruise around. Casey was supposed to be in the way back but felt left out.
We arrived to check out the first Russian church in Alaska.
The church is surrounded by a cemetery that is in need of a good cleaning.
The church is small and there is no seating inside. You must stand for the service.
Some of the names.
Most of the grave sites outside the fence are kept.
Old cemeteries can be interesting.
Another shot of the church. Out of respect, we did not take pictures inside the church.
This is the view from the site of the church.
And that's the village below.
They really need a weed whacker.
Casey was misbehaving so I told her I was going to leave here tied to the fence.
The ride back to camp.....more road repair!
But first we have to stop at the Russian village down below the church.
I liked this place. Not much else to see.
Info on the village.
There's a campground at the shoreline. One RV there.
Back at camp, Casey wanted to stay outside but insisted on sitting on the step.
We finished the day watching the fish jump in the water, and the seals swim by.
