As for Wolf Creek Pass, it was closed due to the fires, shortly after we made it through. That was too close for me.
We're now in Colorado Springs and about two miles from us is Garden of the Gods.
The park consist of natural rock formations that only seem to be in this one area.

It was pretty hot so we mainly just drove around the park. No hiking!
